This is only a test

Welcome back race fans. Ed and I made it to Manchester at 9:30 p.m. After arranging a 4:00 a.m. wake up call we retired to the two bedroom, three television suite. We are staying at the Hilton (I think Ed thought Paris was going to be here).

Since we are newbies to this blogging business - we decided to post an entry tonight to see if we could do it on the road. So far, success, later I am going to try to post a photo. I suspect this blog will be somewhat lacking without illustrations. We have been overwhelmed by the popularity of our new venture - and hope the journal lives up to the hype. Fortunately Ed has a lot of stock in hype incorporated.

A brief recap on the day. Edmund is the proud owner of a necklace that says "patience" courtesy of the adoring staff at Hayden-Perry in Presque Isle. I learned that some people actually drive faster than fast Eddie (hard to believe). We were almost a smear on a guardrail thanks to a two box tractor trailer that swerved into our lane while passing a slower car (Ed blamed the slow car - not the driver). I ordered a calzone that traveled 18 minutes into the future at a place called Sam's in Freeport (Did I mention that Ed has a pendant that reads "patience"). We stopped at LL Bean to buy needed supplies and Ed returned and received a heart rate monitor. While training this season he burned out two.

Ed has redeemed any shortcoming by bringing in a Foster's beer that should help me sleep tonight. Somehow I suspect this will be the most restful night on the tour...

We will check in again when we reach Calgary. If you want to contact us, you too can post a message here. Goodnight Maine.
